Please add a swing tag to your donated items and drop off to one of our locations around the Wellington region.
CanBead
We collect old/unwanted/broken beads on behalf of CanBead, a charity that runs art therapy sessions using beads. These can be old beads broken up, or necklaces, earrings or bracelets

Kirsty Jackson Coordinator and Tutor
CanBead Wellington runs free creative therapy beading workshops for groups of people experiencing illness, trauma or loss. Our host agencies are charities such as Cancer Society, Mary Potter Hospice, Arohanui Hospice, Sweet Louise, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Brain Injury Association, Grandparents raising Grandchildren, Dementia groups, Mental Health Groups, Red Cross, Wellington Women’s House, Wellington City Mission, and more. We cover Wellington Central, and Greater Wellington, as far as Levin and Palmerston North and all areas in between. We don’t have premises we go to our host’s venue with thousands of beads and everything else we need. All our stock is stored in our Co-ordinator’s rumpus room.
CToA has kindly offered to be a collection service for donations to CanBead Wellington. This has been a great collaboration for us, as we do not buy any of our beads. As old/ broken/ unwanted beaded items are donated, we deconstruct them and re-use the beads. Sometimes we have received large donations of new beads which are always welcome, and we love being able to offer a wide variety of quality items to our participants.
