Repurposing
Each year Crafting Threads aims to repurpose textiles, saving them from landfill. Repurposed items are generally donations from corporate supporters. These can be uniforms of any type. Many need the logos removed and/or replaced with patches. Repurposed uniforms are passed on to schools and other organisations or charities.
If you are a Corporate supporter, or would like to be, or you’d just like to know more, please contact us.
The repurposing is done in workshops held in locations that are convenient for our sewers. For more information about these, contact us or pop a question in the Facebook group.
We also run community sewing days, often using repurposed textiles. These days are held regularly to support a number of our charities who need sewn items. Community sewing workshops are held in a number of locations throughout the region. Keep an eye on the events calendar for these!
If you can contribute one or more of these skills, we’d love to hear from you:
