Crafting Threads of Aroha is a volunteer-based crafting charity formed in 2022 which operates in Wellington, Porirua, Kāpiti and the Hutt Valley.

Our amazing crafters knit, crochet or sew items of clothing and bedding for babies, children and adults which are supplied to a number of charities and other organisations which in turn distribute them to those in need.  These include hospitals, baby charities, and those dealing with older children and adults.

We regularly receive donations of yarn and fabric and these are supplied to any of our crafters who request them, although many crafters use their own supplies.

There is a network of drop-off points located in the region and completed items are either delivered there or supplied to our storage space.

About the Trust

Crafting Threads of Aroha is a registered trust (#CC60057)

We are Tax registered with IRD which means you can donate and get a tax receipt to claim for donations over $5.

The Trustees are ably assisted by committed volunteers who contribute to the business and workplan outcomes.

We currently work in collaboration with a large number of charity organisations in the Wellington Region. We have a dedicated committee member who stays in contact with these groups on a regular basis, keeps up with what they need, distributes what we can to them, and passes their requests on to our community to try and fulfil.
