Interested in helping out?

If you’re not too keen on crafting, but would like to support us, we are always looking for wonderful people to donate in other ways.

We accept donations of raw materials for distributing to our crafters. These can include:

  • Yarn - Wool, Wool blends, and Acrylic are all accepted. Our majority need is 100% soft wool, which ensures our littlest recipients can receive the crafted items

  • Fabric of all sorts and sizes as long as it is in reasonable condition, and large enough to work with. We accept smaller pieces of quilting cotton for quilt kits

  • Quilt Batting - many of our crafters love to quilt, but the cost of all the materials can be a limiting factor. If you have batting that won't be used, we'll take it!

  • Good quality sheets and blankets for repurposing

  • Financial koha - when our crafters get busy and the donated supplies can't keep up, we use money that is donated to buy more supplies and other equipment to keep our storage site safe and organised. We are Tax registered with IRD which means you can donate and get a tax receipt to claim for donations over $5.

Get in touch if you’d like to financially support us.

We're also always keen to hear from people who would like to support us with time and other skills. We are always looking for people to help with things like:

  • Driving to help with pickups and deliveries

  • Event Organising or event hosting – can you add to our list of regular and one-off crafting sessions? Our crafters are very social, and our committee just can’t keep up! Are you interested in being an event host for crafters in your area? Find a location, set up the events on the Facebook group, attend, and coordinate supplies and/or donations with the storage team

  • Introductions - do you know of a business, charity or organisation who would be interested in collaborating with us? We'd love to be introduced if you know someone who is involved with them, it's always so much easier to connect with an introduction to start.

Have other ideas about how you can get involved? Get in touch and let’s chat!
